Cirque du Soleil will have a three-minute production number at the Sunday, February 26 Oscar ceremony, according to an Associated Press report.

The 84th Annual Academy Awards are being held at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, where Cirque du Soleil is currently presenting its show, Iris. However, the AP article cites the company's special events director Yasmine Khalil as saying that the Oscar performance will be unique to this evening, and involve more than 50 artists.

Danny Elfman will be composing the music for the company's Oscar performance.

As previously reported, Tony Award winner Billy Crystal is hosting the Oscars, which will be aired live on ABC-TV.
