Christopher Plummer, Bernie Telsey, Michelle Williams Among Spirit Award Winners

Winners of the Independent Film Spirit Awards were announced in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 25. Seth Rogen hosted the ceremony.

The Artist received awards for Best Film, Best Director for Michel Hazanavicius, and Best Actor for Jean Dujardin.

Acting awards were also given to Michelle Williams (My Week With Marilyn), Christopher Plummer (Beginners), and Shailene Woodley (The Descendants).

In addition, Best First Feature went to J.C. Chandor’s Margin Call which also took home the Robert Altman Award, which was shared by Chandor, casting directors Tiffany Little Canfield, Bernard Telsey, and the film’s ensemble cast, including Penn Badgley, Simon Baker, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons, Mary McDonnell, Demi Moore, Zachary Quinto, Kevin Spacey, and Stanley Tucci.
