Dames at Sea, On Golden Pond, Old Wicked Songs, et al. Set for Colony Theatre’s 2011-2012 Season

The Colony Theatre Company has announced its 2011 – 2012 season.

First up will be Michael Golamco’s Year Zero (June 1 – July 3), which looks at two young Cambodian-Americans trying to figure out how to work their way out of the rut in which they find themselves. Also on the schedule is Ernest Thompson’s On Golden Pond (July 27 – August 28), a look at a family’s uncomfortable getaway at their summer home; Steven Dietz’s Shooting Star (September 14 – October 16), about a man and a woman’s unexpected reunion 25 years after their college breakup; and Giles Havergal’s adaptation of Travels With My Aunt (November 9 – December 18), about a mild-mannered man’s international adventure with his more flamboyant relative.

In the new year, The Colony will produce Jon Marans’ Old Wicked Songs (February 1 – March4), about a young American pianist trying to rebuild his confidence while studying in Vienna; as well as the musical Dames at Sea (April 11 – May 13), a loving spoof of Busby Berkeley’s movie extravaganzas, with book and lyrics by George Haimsohn and Robin Miller, and music by Jim Wise.
