Michael Feinstein, Josh Groban, Donna McKechnie, Kiri Te Kanawa, and More to Be Part of Hollywood Bowl 2009 Season

Singer Josh Groban and Opera diva Dame Kiri Te Kanawa will be inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame at the Opening Night at the Bowl celebration on June 19 at 8:30 pm.

Garth Brooks and John Williams will be presenters, and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra will be conducted by Thomas Wilkins. Proceeds from this 10th anniversary celebration of the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame will benefit Music Matters, which supports the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s education programs.

Other highlights of the Bowl’s 2009 summer season will include Monica Mancini in Ultimate Mancini!, celebrating the music of multiple Oscar and Grammy winner Henry Mancini (July 10-11); Natalie Cole (July 15); The Philip Glass Ensemble (July 23); Michael Feinstein and Jewel in The Art of the Song (July 24-25); Guys and Dolls in Concert, choreographed by Tony winner Donna McKechnie, conducted by Kevin Stites, and directed by Richard Jay-Alexander (July 31-August 2); Bramwell Tovey conducting the music of Leonard Bernstein (August 18); Patti LaBelle (August 19); and Sing-A-Long Sound of Music (September 26).
