The Latino Theater Company Evicted from Los Angeles Theater Center

The Latino Theater Company has been evicted from the Los Angeles Theater Center, according to Los Angeles Downtown News.

The City Council voted on Tuesday, January 17 to evict both the Latino Theater Company and the Latino Museum of History, Art and Culture after the museum sued the city and the theater company in 2009 over denied rights and inaccurate billing, and the Latino Theater Company countersued last year.

According to the paper, the approved motion states that both tenants have failed to meet “the reasonable expectations of the City, and therefore the Council has a basis to terminate the lease.”

Both organizations have been ordered to leave the LATC property within 45 days.
