Center Theatre Group to Present Return LA Engagement of Mary Poppins

Center Theatre Group and producers Thomas Schumacher of Disney Theatrical Productions and Cameron Mackintosh are set to present a return engagement of Mary Poppins, August 9-September 2 at the Ahmanson Theatre. Richard Eyre directs.

Mary Poppins, a co-production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh, opened on Broadway in 2006. Based on P.L. Travers’ cherished stories and the 1964 film, the stage play features the music and lyrics of Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. It was created in collaboration with Cameron Mackintosh and Julian Fellowes.

Co-direction and choreography are by Tony Award-winner Matthew Bourne, with co-choreography by Olivier Award-winner Stephen Mear. Music Director is Daniel Bowling. The design team also features Tony-Award winner Bob Crowley (set and costume design), Howard Harrison (lighting design), and William David Brohn (orchestration).
