Paul Dano and Robert De Niro will star in the forthcoming film Another Night, according to a report in Variety. Paul Weitz is writing and directing the project.

The movie, based on Nick Flynn’s 2004 memoir Another Bullshit Night in Suck City, focuses on a young writer who takes a job at a homeless shelter in Boston, where he’s reunited with his long-absent father who has come seeking a bed.

Dano was recently seen on Broadway in John Guare’s A Free Man of Color at Lincoln Center Theater. His other stage credits include the 1996 Broadway revival of Inherit the Wind and Things We Want, seen off-Broadway in 2007. His film credits include There Will be Blood, Where the Wild Things Are, Gigantic, and The Extra Man, as well as the forthcoming Cowboys & Aliens.

De Niro appeared on Broadway in the 1986 play, Cuba & His Teddy Bear, for which he received a Theatre World Award. He has won two Academy Awards, for The Godfather, Part II and Raging Bull, and received nominations for his performances in Taxi Driver, The Deer Hunter, Awakenings, and Cape Fear.
