Ian McKellen and Cate Blanchett to Reprise Roles in Hobbit Film

Stage and screen stars Cate Blanchett and Ian McKellen will reprise their roles as Galadriel and Gandalf in the upcoming Peter Jackson-helmed film of The Hobbit.
The film, which is based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, will also feature returning stars Elijah Wood as Frodo and Andy Serkus as Gollum.
The film’s cast will also include Ken Stott as Dwarf Lord Balin; Sylvester McCoy as wizard Radagast the Brown; Mikael Persbrandt as shape-shifting bear-man Beorn; Ryan Gage as Drogo Baggins; Jed Brophy and William Kircher as the dwarves Nori and Bifur, and Martin Freeman as titular hobbit Bilbo Baggins.
