Brandon Victor Dixon, Frenchie Davis, Leslie Odom Jr. to Star in Sweet Soul Music at La Mirada Theatre

Brandon Victor Dixon and Leslie Odom Jr. are joining previously announced star Frenchie Davis in Sweet Soul Music, to play the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts on Sunday, January 30 at 7:30pm.

The concert will feature the music of Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, and Gladys Knight, under the musical direction of Todd Schroeder.

Dixon received a Tony Award nomination for The Color Purple and starred in the Off-Broadway production The Scottsboro Boys. His many other stage credits include Unchain My Heart and House of Flowers.

Odom’s stage credits include Leap of Faith, Being Alive, Once on This Island, and Jersey Boys. He is best known for his work as Joseph Kayle on the hit CBS drama CSI: Miami.

Davis’ stage credits include Rent on Broadway, the West Coast tour of Dreamgirls, and the national tour of Ain’t Misbehavin’, with fellow
American Idol alum, Ruben Studdard. She recently wrapped up a run as the Fairy Godmother in the Berkeley Playhouse’s production of Cinderella (Enchanted Edition).

The concert is part of the Upright Cabaret series, which will continue with I Want to Hold Your Hand (April 17), featuring the music of the Beatles; Cowboys and Angels (June 5), featuring the music of Patsy Cline, Garth Brooks and Loretta Lynn; and California Dreamin’ (July 10), featuring the music of The Mamas & The Papas, Linda Ronstadt and The Eagles.
