Paul Rudd to Star Opposite Zach Galifianakis in Will Film

Theater veteran Paul Rudd will co-star with Zach Galifianakis in the Paramount film comedy, Will, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film will be directed by Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton from a script by by Demetri Martin. Will Ferrell is among the producers.

Rudd will play an ordinary guy who lives in a world where people’s lives and destinies are being written by scribes in Heaven. Galifianakis will play his heavenly writer, who decides to stop writing the man’s life.

Rudd’s Broadway credits include Three Days of Rain, Twelfth Night, and The Last Night of Ballyhoo, with additional theater credits including bash: latter day plays and The Shape of Things. His prior films include Clueless, The Object of My Affection, and The Cider House Rules. He will also appear with Galifianakis in Paramount’s upcoming comedy Dinner for Schmucks.
