The stage production will be a "re-imagined" version of the show, created by Reubens, Bill Steinkellner, and John Paragon. The production will feature Pee-wee regulars along with Pee-Wee's talking chair Chairry, Pterri the pterodactyl, Conky the robot, Magic Screen, and Randy. Scenic designer David Korins has worked with Gary Panter, the award-winning designer of both the original stage production and Pee-wee's Playhouse, to re-create the environment.
In addition to Reubens, the company will feature Lynne Marie Stewart (Miss Yvonne), Phil LaMarr (Cowboy Curtis), Jesse Garcia (Sergio), Josh Meyers (Firefighter), John Moody (Mailman Mike), John Paragon (Jambi), Drew Powell (Bear), and Lance Roberts (King of Cartoons) as well as Lori Alan and Maceo Oliver.
Reubens originated the character of Pee-wee Herman in 1981 at the Groundlings Theatre, in a show aimed at adult audiences. He achieved national fame with the release of the film Pee-wee's Big Adventure in 1985, followed by a children's television show, Pee-wee's Playhouse, during the late 1980s.For further information, visit www.peewee.com.
