Angels Gate Cultural Center has announced the lineup for its 2009 New Play Reading Series, which will feature three Los Angeles playwrights. The event will be held at the Center’s Gallery A, on February 7.

The first play, Dark Matters (2 pm), is Oliver Mayer’s exploration of the relationship between love, science and art, to be directed by Bart DeLorenzo. Damon Chua’s The Ghost Building (5 pm) is a murder mystery with parallel plots that follows a silent movie starlet in the 20s and a modern-day writer on her own journey of truth and deceit. Tony Gatto will direct. The final reading of the day will be Year Zero (8 pm) by Michael Golamco, a comedy-drama about reincarnation, reinvention, and redemption in a community of young Cambodian Americans in Long Beach, California. Nathan Birnbaum will direct.
