WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
This classic favorite centers around a young nun, Maria, who is sent to be the governess to an Austrian family of seven children and their widowed father, a naval Captain, on the eve of World War II. Maria brings love and attention to the motherless children, and shares with them her love of music. Her growing rapport with the children, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain.
