WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Lion in Winter is playwright James Goldman's account of Christmas in the court of Chinon in 1183 AD. King Henry the II is having the family for Christmas. He let's his wife, Eleanor, out of prison who immediately begins to plot and plan his demise. His three sons, Richard, Geoffery and John are fighting for the crown, each determined to be the next King. And at the center of the storm Henry's mistress, Alais, she is the pawn that everyone is fighting over.
