Ever since her father, the late great Texas Blues guitarist Johnny Copeland started taking her on the road with him when she was still a teenager, Shemekia Copeland's powerhouse voice has been turning heads. She's built an impressive career on her own in the years since, staying close to her Blues roots on a series of successful albums. With a new label, Telarc, and a new album, "Never Going Back," Copeland is stretching her sound out more.
