FIRST LOOK: Betty Buckley and Rachel York as the Beales in Bay Street's Grey Gardens

The first photos of the Bay Street Theater production of Grey Gardens have been released. The musical stars Tony Award winner Betty Buckley (Cats) and Drama Desk Award winner Rachel York (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) as Big Edie and Little Edie Bouvier Beale.

Michael Wilson (The Trip to Bountiful) directs the production, which runs August 4-30. The company also includes Howard McGillin (George Gould Strong), Gracie Beardsley (Jacqueline), Matt Doyle (Joe/Jerry), James Harkness (Brooks Sr./Brooks Jr.), Sarah Hunt (Young Edie), Simon Jones (Major/Peale), and Dakota Quackenbush (Lee).

Based on the 1975 documentary film of the same name by Albert and David Maysles, Grey Gardens tells the story of Big Edie (Buckley) and Little Edie Beale (York), a mother and daughter who ended up living as recluses in a run-down Long Island mansion. The musical version features a book by Doug Wright and a score by Michael Korie and Scott Frankel.
