The Painting Plays will be an evening of readings of short works in dialogue with visual art, with some pieces having been invented for the occasion, some re-invented, and some newly juxtaposed with other works to provide a fresh perspective.

The cast will feature Blythe Danner, Melissa Errico, Tovah Feldshuh, Harris Yulin, Lois Markle, and Sarah Bierstock.

Participant artists include John Alexander, Eric Fischl, April Gornik, Eric Dever, Clifford Ross and Jane Wilson, and playwrights Marsha Norman, Jenny Lyn Bader, Lucy Boyle, J. Stephen Brantley, and Joe Pintauro.

Playwright and visual artist pairings for the event will be as follows: Marsha Norman with Clifford Ross, Lucy Boyle with John Alexander, Joe Pintauro with Eric Dever, Jenny Lyn Bader with April Gornik, and J. Stephen Brantley with Jane Wilson.
