With a book by Joseph Stein and music and lyrics by Stan Daniels, the show, set in the 1930s, centers on a shop boy from the Bronx who pursues his dream of becoming a leading man on stage while facing mounting pressures from his despondent girlfriend, dismissive boss, distracted best friend, disgusted acting coach, and disapproving parents.
As previously reported, the company will feature Jill Eikenberry, Josh Grisetti, Richard Kind, Kate Shindle, Michael Tucker, Gina Milo, Erick Devine, Eric Mann, Paul Binotto, Gerry McIntyre, Betsy DiLello, Emily Shoolin, and Ray DeMattis.
The creative team will include James Morgan (scenic design), David Toser (costume design), lighting Ken Billington (lighting design), and Tony Melfa (sound design).
