Synopsis

Michael Pennington's career has spanned more than 40 years as a leading Shakespearean actor, with roles for the RSC, the National Theatre and his own English Shakespeare Company.

Having spent over 20,000 hours performing the work of Shakespeare, in Sweet William he takes us on a journey to look at the life and work of our greatest playwright - giving shape to Shakespeare the man and the personality behind the plays.

Michael's celebrated show Anton Chekhov takes the form of an evening spent in the company of the Russian playwright. Reminiscing about his life, the Russia of his time and his work, he engages deeply and humorously with his English audience.

Performances:

Sweet William: 24, 25, 27, 28, 29 November at 7.30pm
Anton Chekhov: 26 November at 7.30pm, 29 November at 3pm
