WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
BBC Radio 2 presents a special gala celebrating one of the all time greats of musical theatre - Jerry Herman.
John Barrowman hosts this once in a lifetime event, with guest stars from the West End and Broadway including: Maria Friedman, Donald Pippin, Debbie Gravitte, the Capital Voices and in a unique UK appearance - Jerry Herman himself. Join the seventy piece BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Larry Blank, in this tribute to the multi-award winning composer and lyricist.
Featuring music from Jerry's major musicals including: Hello Dolly, Mack and Mabel, Mame, Milk and Honey, and La Cage Aux Folles, and songs including: 'I Won't Send Roses', 'I Am What I Am', 'The Best Of Times', 'Put On Your Sunday Clothes', 'Tap Your Troubles Away', 'Before the Parade Passes By' and 'Hello Dolly'.

The Prince Edward Theatre opened on April 3, 1930. It became a restaurant/cabaret in 1936, but later reverted to a theatre.
