Created by Claudia Shear and James Lapine, who star and direct respectively, Dirty Blonde centres on two urban loners and their budding romance as they learn to discover in their own lives a bit of the swagger of Mae West, the legendary vaudeville star and Hollywood sex siren. The original New York cast will reprise their roles in London, which will also reunite the original creative team. Claudia Shear stars both as Mae West and 'Jo', with Kevin Chamberlin appearing as 'Charlie' and Bob Stillman playing the phalanx of men in Mae West's life. The play has scenic design by Douglas Stein, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting by David Lander and musical direction by Bob Stillman. Musical staging is by John Carrafa, and Dirty Blonde is directed by James Lapine.
