The National Theatre's production of War Horse -- adapted by Nick Stafford from Michael Morpurgo's novel -- will transfer to the West End's New London Theatre beginning March 28. Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris direct.

The show, which is presented in association with Handspring Puppet Company, ends its run at the National on March 18. It involves young Albert's horse Joey, sold to the cavalry during World War I, who serves on both sides of the conflict and Joey's treacherous mission to find him and bring him home.

The production won the 2007 Evening Standard, Critics' Circle and Laurence Olivier Awards for the set design by Rae Smith and Handspring Puppet Company, while Toby Sedgwick received an Olivier Award for his choreography. The creative team also includes Adrian Kohler (puppet design and fabrication), Paule Constable (lighting), Basil Jones and Adrian Kohler (puppetry direction), Leo Warner and Mark Grimmer (video design), John Tams (songmaker), Adrian Sutton (music), and Christopher Shutt (sound).
