Philip Seymour Hoffman will direct the London premiere of Andrew Upton's play Riflemind, beginning September 15 at Trafalgar Studios. The show will star John Hannah, Paul Hilton, Susan Prior, Susan Rodgers, and Jeremy Sims.

The work centers on the reunion of an iconic rock band 20 years after their frontman walked off the stage for good. Upton is co-artistic director of the Sydney Theatre Company (with wife Cate Blanchett) and his plays include a recent adaptation of The Philistines.

Hoffman's directorial credits include The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, Our Lady of 121st Street, and Jesus Hopped The ' A' Train. A noted stage actor, Hoffman has appeared on Broadway in True West and Long Day's Journey Into Night. He won the Academy Award for Capote , and will be seen in the film version of John Patrick Shanley's Doubt, opposite Meryl Streep, later this year.
