The Old Vic Theatre has announced plans for the 2010-2011 season, which will begin with Noel Coward’s Design for Living (September 3 – November 27). Anthony Page will direct the production, which will feature Lisa Dillon, Andrew Scott, and Tom Burke.

Dillon will also appear in the theater’s second offering, Georges Feydeau’s A Flea in Her Ear (December 4 – March 5), in John Mortimer’s version. The production, to be directed by Richard Eyre, will also feature Tom Hollander.

The theater’s third offering in the coming year will be a production of Terence Rattigan’s Cause Celebre (March 17 – June 11). Thea Sharrock will direct the production, which is being offered as part of a centenary celebration of the playwright’s birth. The play is based on the true story of Alma Rattenbury, who went on trial with her 18-year-old lover for murdering her much older husband.

In addition, The 24 Hour Plays Gala returns to The Old Vic on November 21 for the seventh year running. 40 internationally renowned actors, directors and writers will join forces to test their talents to the limit and create six short plays in just 24 hours.

The Old Vic Tunnels, under Waterloo Station, will be home to the UK Premiere of Scorched, by award-winning playwright Wajdi Mouawad, directed by Patricia Benecke and co-produced by Dialogue Productions (September 3-October 2).

Additional casting and creative teams will be announced at a later date.
