Emily Morrtimer, Michael Stuhlbarg Join Jude Law, et al. in Martin Scorsese’s Hugo Cabret Film

Stage veterans Michael Stuhlbarg and Emily Mortimer will join Tony Award nominee Jude Law in Martin Scorsese’s live-action 3D film Hugo Cabret, according to The Hollywood Reporter.The project has begun production in London, and Sony plans to release the film in December 2011.

Based on Brian Selznick’s award-winning novel, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, the film tells the story of an orphan who lives in the walls of a busy Paris train station.

The screenplay is penned by John Logan, who won the 2010 Tony Award for Red, and whose film credits include Sweeney Todd and Gladiator.

The movie’s cast will also include Oscar winner Sir Ben Kingsley, Tony Award winners Frances de la Tour and Richard Griffiths, as well as Christopher Lee, Sacha Baron Cohen, Asa Butterfield, Chloe Moretz, Helen McCrory, and Ray Winstone.
