Alexia Khadime will take over the role of Elphaba and Desmond Barrit will take over the role of The Wizard in the musical Wicked at the Apollo Victoria on June 9.

Khadime takes over from Kerry Ellis, who will play the role of Elphaba on Broadway before returning to the London production on December 1, while Barrit will replace Nigel Planer.

Khadime is currently starring as Nala in the London production of The Lion King, and her other theater credits include Whistle Down the Wind, Leader of the Pack, and Cinderella. Barrit is currently playing Hector in the London production of The History Boys.
