Elevator Repair Service, Mabou Mines, Wooster Group, et al. to Appear at Edinburgh International Festival

The lineup for the 2010 Edinburgh International Festival has been announced, and will include three New York troupes, Elevator Repair Service, The Wooster Group, and Mabou Mines.

Elevator Repair Service will be performing their adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises at the Royal Lyceum Theatre, August 14-17. The Wooster Group will be offering their production of Tennessee Williams’ Vieux Carre, to run August 21-24, also at the Royal Lyceum. The Mabou Mines will entry in the festival will be The Gospel at Colonus, to run August 21-23 at The Edinburgh Playhouse. Work from the U.S. will also be represented with Meredith Monk and Ann Hamilton’s Songs of Ascension, which will play the Royal Lyceum, August 28-30.

Two productions from Chile’s Teatro Cinema will also be part of the Festival. The company will present Sin Sangre (Without Blood) (August 28-September 3), as well as The Man Who Fed Butterflies (August 29 – September 4). Both productions will be seen at the King’s. Work from Chile will also be represented with Teatro en el Blanco’s Dicembre (December), running September 2-4 at the Royal Lyceum.
