WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Set in New York, The Little Dog Laughed is a four-hander centering on Mitchell, a Hollywood actor who, out of loneliness and boredom at his ailing career, decides to call a male escort hotline. Alex answers the call and meets him in his hotel room. The two form an unlikely friendship and both get far more out of the evening's events than either originally planned.

The Little Dog Laughed
I really enjoyed this new play and havent laughed so much in a long time.
The performances were all fantastic, Tamsin Greig and Harry Lloyd particularly.
There is quite a lot of gaiety during the evening, so be prepared if your easily shocked!
But it is also a surprisingly touching, funny and original production.

RE:This poor dog hid in his basket, wimpering, with his paws over his ears
The original nursery rhyme Hi diddle was written at the time of Queen Elizabeth 1st. The Cat and the Fiddle were nicknames given to the servants who tasted her food to make sure it wasnt poisoned. Unfortunately closeted Queen Michael, who is the main character in the play I killed off from sheer boredom within the first few minutes. The dreadful phoney American accents, and diction of the cast made it almost impossible to understand. The Dish and the Spoon were also nicknames of servants of Queen Elizabeth I. They eloped so in fact the dish did run away with the spoon. .Forget about eloping this play was so bad they couldnt get away quick enough, and the poor Dog? Like me he certainly didnt laugh he just wimpered in his basket, with his paws over his ears. I managed to laugh once at the beginning of the 2nd half One redeeming factor Tasmain Greigs clothes were lovely. Pity about her shrill voice and the mobile phone. The worst play at the Garrick since That Championship Season with Matthew Broderick shown around 1973
