SHOW INFORMATION
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Peter Hall adapts and directs John Barton's Tantalus, a 10 hour epic tracing the events of the Trojan war. Tantalus is a character in Greek myths who was punished by the Gods for stealing their secrets. He was consequently destined to spend all eternity with a rock hanging precariously over his head, to be forever hungry and thirsty, with food and drink in sight, but always - tantalizingly - just out of reach. The production is performed in three parts: The Outbreak of War, The War, and The Homecomings. The three cycles can be seen over two or three days or as a marathon performance on one single day.
