Death of a Salesman, Merchant of Venice, and More Join Royal Shakespeare Company Season

Former ”Henry IV” costars Antony Sher and Alex Hassell will reunite next summer in Arthur Miller’s classic drama.

The U.K.'s Royal Shakespeare Company has announced the lineup of productions set for its 2015 summer season.

Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman will open the summer at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and run from March 26-May 2. Gregory Doran will direct, with Antony Sher in the lead role of traveling salesman Willy Loman. Alex Hassell, who plays Prince Hal in RSC’s current productions of Henry IV Part 1 & Part 2, will play Willy’s eldest son, Biff.

William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice, directed by Polly Findlay, will follow with a run from May 14-September 2. Shakespeare's Othello will then run from June 4-August 28 and feature Hugh Quarshie in the title role and Lucian Msamati as Iago. Iqbal Khan will direct.

At the Swan Theatre, Justin Audibert will direct Christopher Marlowe's The Jew of Malta (March 18-September 8), followed by John Ford's Love's Sacrifice, directed by Matthew Dunster (April 11-June 24) and Ben Jonson's Volpone, directed by Trevor Nunn, with Henry Goodman in the title role (July 3-September 12).
