Sally Hawkins, Rafe Spall to Star in Royal Court’s Constellations

Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins will co-star with Rafe Spall in Constellations, a new play by Nick Payne at Royal Court in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs. Michael Longhurst will direct the production, which will run January 13-February 11.

The play is described as “about quantum multiverse theory, love and honeybees.”

Hawkins last appeared at the Royal Court in Jez Butterworth’s The Winterling and Country Music by Simon Stephens. She made her Broadway debut in Mrs. Warren’s Profession. Her film credits include Jane Eyre, Made in Dagenham, Never Let Me Go and Happy -Go-Lucky for which she was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Actress. In 2012 she will appear in the film adaptation of Great Expectations.

Spall was last seen at the Royal Court in DC Moore’s Alaska. His previous stage credits include If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet at the Bush and John Gabriel Borkman at the Donmar Warehouse. He can be seen on film in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
