Ralph Fiennes, Vanessa Redgrave, et al. Win British Independent Film Awards

The winners of the Moet British Independent Film Awards were announced on December 4.


Tony Award winner Ralph Fiennes was given the Richard Harris Award, an award introduced in memory of the late actor and given to talent for their outstanding contribution by an actor to British film, for his work in Coriolanus, which he also directed, and Vanessa Redgrave was named Best Supporting Actress for her work in the film.


Paddy Considine’s Tyrannosaurus was named Best Film; he was named Best Debut Director, an Olivia Colman was named Best Actress for her work in the movie.


Other winners included Best Actor Michael Fassbender (Shame), Best Supporting Actor Michael Smiley (Kill List), and Best Director Lynne Ramsey (We Need To Talk About Kevin).
