Katie Mitchell, Michael Sheen, and Liz Smith will be recognized on the Queen’s annual New Year’s Honours list, according to published reports.

Mitchell, who is an associate director at the National Theatre, and Sheen — who starred in the Broadway, West End, and film versions of Frost/Nixon — will each be awarded an OBE (Officer of the British Empire). Smith, best known for her role on the BBC’s The Royle Family, will be appointed an MBE (Member of the British Empire).

Other arts-related honorees include actor Earl Cameron, jazz musician Courtney Pine, and singer Robert Plant, who will be appointed CBE (Commander of the British Empire). Former BBC head Jenny Abramsky has been named a Dame, while novelist Terry Pratchett has been named a Knight.
