The Traverse Theatre Company production of David Greig’s Damascus will play London’s Tricycle Theatre, February 3- March 7, prior to embarking upon a world tour.

The play is about an English language textbook salesman on assignment to the oldest continuously inhabited city on earth. Following the Tricycle run, Damascus will tour to North Africa and the Near East.

The original Traverse Theatre Company cast — Nathalie Armin, Alex Elliott, Dolya Gavanski, Paul Higgins and Khalid Laith — will reprise their roles. The creative team includes Anthony Macllwaine (designer), Chahine Yavroyan (lighting), Jon Beales (composer/arranger), and Graham Sutherland (sound).

Greig’s other plays include Midsummer, Outlying Islands, Europe, The American Pilot, Ramallah, Pyrenees, Caligula, The Cosmonaut’s Last Message to the Woman He Once Loved in the Former Soviet Union, and a version of Euripides’ The Bacchae.
