Liam Neeson Hologram to Be Featured in U.K. Tour of The War of the Worlds – The New Generation

A hologram of Liam Neeson as George Herbert,The Journalist will be featured in the forthcoming U.K. tour of The War of the Worlds – The New Generation, which will launch at the Liverpool Echo Arena on December 1, 2012, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com.

The tour will also include engagements in Cardiff, Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle, Glasgow, Bournemouth, and Brighton. In addition it will play engagements at London’s Wembley Arena on December 5, 2012, and the O2 Arena on December 15, 2012.

The show, an extension of Jeff Wayne’s concept album of HG Wells’ story, has previously toured the U.K. and Europe, most recently in 2009, when a hologram of Richard Burton (who voiced the role of the journalist on the original recording of the show), was used.

Neeson’s Broadway credits include The Crucible and Anna Christie, both of which earned him Tony Award nominations, and The Judas Kiss. His film credits include Schindler’s List, for which he earned an Oscar nomination, Taken, Nell, and Chloe, and The Unknown.
