Mark Rylance, Rachel Weisz, et al. Win Evening Standard Awards

The annual Evening Standard Awards, honoring the best in British theater, were presented on November 23 in London.

Jez Butterworth’s Jerusalem was named Best Play, the Open Air Theatre’s revival of Hello, Dolly! won the Ned Sherrin Award for Best Musical, while acting honors went to Mark Rylance for Jerusalem and Rachel Weisz for A Streetcar Named Desire. Rupert Goold was named Best Director for Enron.

In addition, Sir Ian McKellen received a special award for his contribution to British theater.
