Judi Dench, Charles Edwards, et al. to Star in Peter Hall’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Full casting has been announced for Sir Peter Hall’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Rose Theatre, Kingston, February 9-March 20, according to Whatsonstage.com.

As previously announced, the production will star Tony Award winner Judi Dench as Titania. The cast will also include Oliver Chris (Bottom), Annabel Scholey (Hermia), Rachael Stirling (Helena), Charles Edwards (Oberon), William Chubb, Msimisi Dlamini, Richard Keightley, James Laurenson, Ben Mansfield, Reece Ritchie, Susan Salmon, Simon Scott, Sophie Scott, Timothy Speyer, Julian Wadham, Leon Williams, and Tam Williams.

Dench and Hall were founding members of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and she first played the role of Titania in Hall’s 1962 Royal Shakespeare Company production. They have also worked together in stage productions of Antony and Cleopatra, The Royal Family and Hay Fever.

Dench’s myriad other theater credits include Madame de Sade, Amy’s View, Cabaret, and A Little Night Music. She won the Oscar for Shakespeare in Love and currently plays the role of “M” in the James Bond series.
