The longlist for the this year’s Evening Standard Theatre Awards has been announced, according to Whatsonstage.com. The awards’ shortlist will be announced on November 20.
Among the performers on the longlist are Gemma Arterton, Tracie Bennett, Eve Best, James Corden, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ralph Fiennes, Hadyn Gwynne, Derek Jacobi, Jude Law, Leslie Manville, Jonny Lee Miller, Sheridan Smith, Kevin Spacey, Kristin Scott Thomas, Tracey Ullman, and Dominic West.
Directors whose names appear on the longlist include Rob Ashford, Lucy Bailey, Danny Boyle, Michael Grandage, Edward Hall, Nicholas Hytner, Mike Leigh, Rufus Norris, Trevor Nunn, Max Stafford-Clark, and Matthew Warchus.
The works on the longlist for Best Play are The Heretic, One Man, Two Guvnors, Wittenberg, The Knot of the Heart, Becky Shaw, Tribes and Remembrance Day.
