Donmar Warehouse Announces Complete Casting for Richard II

Donmar Warehouse has announced complete casting for William Shakespeare’s Richard II, to run December 1 – February 12, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. As previously reported, Michael Grandage will direct the production, which will be designed by Richard Kent.

Shakespeare’s history play looks at the events surrounding Bolingbroke’s removal of Richard from the throne of England and assumption of the title of King Henry IV. Eddie Redmayne will star in the title role and Andrew Buchan will play Bolingbroke, as previously announced.

The company will also feature Ron Cook (Duke of York), Pippa Bennett-Warner (Queen Isabel), Michael Hadley (John of Gaunt/Gardener/Keeper), Harry Attwell (Exton), Ashley Zhangazha (Aumerle/Groom), Stefano Braschi (Green/Scroop/Gardener’s Man), Ben Turner (Mowbray/Salisbury), Sean Jackson (Fitzwater), Sian Thomas (Duchess of Gloucester/Duchess of York), Daniel Easton (Bagot), Michael Marcus (Bushy/Abbot of Westminster), along with Daniel Flynn (Earl of Northumberland), Joseph Timms (Harry Percy) and Phillip Joseph (Welsh Captain/Bishop of Carlisle).
