Darius Campbell will play the role of Billy Flynn opposite the previously reported America Ferrera’s Roxie Hart in Chicago, when it resumes performances at the West End’s Garrick Theatre on November 7.

Directed by Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Ann Reinking, the musical, with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse, centers on the trials of two women, who hope to use their infamy to catapult them to stardom.

The company will also feature Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, James Doherty as Amos Hart, Jasna Ivir as Mama Morton and R. Whitehead as Mary Sunshine.

The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (scenic design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Ken Billington (lighting design), and Scott Lehrer (sound design).

Campbell — formerly known as Darius Danesh — previously played the role in 2006. Among his other stage credits are Trevor Nunn’s Gone with the Wind and Michael Grandage’s Guys and Dolls. In addition, the performer, who won the ITV reality series Popstar To Operastar, made his opera debut in Carmen at the O2 Arena in 2010.
