Sadler’s Wells Announces New Season

Sadler’s Wells has announced the selections for its 2010-2011 season.

As previously reported, the ballet The Most Incredible Thing, featuring music by pop duo Pet Shop Boys, will premiere at Sadler’s Wells, March 22-26. The piece is adapted by Matthew Dunster and Pet Shop Boys from Hans Christian Andersen’s 1870 story of the same name, and will be directed and choreographed by Javier de Frutos. It tells the story of a contest to find “the most incredible thing” in order to win the hand of a princess. Royal Ballet principal Ivan Putrov will lead the cast of 15. The production will feature design by Katrina Lindsay, and film and animation by Tal Rosner, and will include a 26-piece orchestra.

Other engagements will include the return of Shoes; Zingaro Equestrian Theatre company’s The Centaur and the Animal, co-choreographed by Japanese butoh master Ko Murobushi; and visits by Anne Teresa De Keersmaker and her company Rosas, William Forsythe, les ballet C de la B, Rosalba Torres Guerrero, Daniel Linehan, Dutch National Ballet, Hofesh Schechter, Martin Creed, Sol Pico and American Ballet Theatre, Balletboyz, and Merchants of Bollywood.
