Wicked Day Events Set for Broadway and West End Productions

The musical Wicked has announced events associated with its annual Wicked Day, for both its Broadway and London productions.

Broadway cast members — and New Jersey locals — Michelle Federer (Nessarose), Kevin Kern (Fiyero) and P.J. Benjamin (The Wizard) will be on hand for a meet and greet from 12pm-1pm at New Jersey’s Short Hills Mall. The mall will also host free giveaways, “Behind the Emerald Curtain” museum displays, and “Take Your Photo in Oz” photo booths on both October 31 and November 1. Similar events will take place in Connecticut at the Stamford Town Center (October 24-25).

In Manhattan, there will be opportunities to meet Wicked cast members during appearances at Bloomingdales, Splash (both on October 26), and Barnes & Noble (October 30). Additionally, for the week of October 26 – November 1, fans who participate in the show’s nightly lottery will have a chance to win a free copy of the new book Wicked The Musical: A Pop-Up Compendium of Splendiferous Delight and Thrillifying Intrigue, as well as a copy of Defying Gravity: The Creative Career of Stephen Schwartz from Godspell to Wicked, written by Carol de Giere.

Wicked Day in London will be celebrated at The Lawrence Hall at the Royal Horticultural Halls, on Sunday, November 1, 12pm-6pm. Members of the Wicked cast will be on hand for a day that will feature a host of Wicked and Halloween-themed free events including competitions, performances, face-painting, fancy dress, workshops and a range of activities suitable for people of all ages.

In addition, on Saturday, October 31, there will be Wicked and Halloween themed events at Westfield London, 12pm-5pm, including face-painting, competitions, performances by members of the Wicked cast, prizes for the best Halloween costumes, and a Wicked Cackle Halloween World Record attempt led by members of the cast with as many shoppers as possible. Proceeds from both London events will be donated to a project between Wicked and Magic 105.4’s charity Cash For Kids to build a community garden in a deprived area of London.

Finally, fans from around the world are invited to throw an official Wicked-themed party with their friends. All party hosts can register their get-together at www.wickedday.com and share details from their events with other fans.
