Marti Pellow to Star in UK Tour of Chicago, January 18-February 26

International singing sensation Marti Pellow will assume the role of Billy Flynn in the UK national tour of Chicago, January 18 – February 26. Pellow has previously played the role in both the West End and on Broadway.

Emma Barton, currently starring in the show on tour as Roxie Hart, will continue to play the role opposite Pellow. They will be seen together at the Wales Millennium Centre (January 18-23), Milton Keynes Theatre (Janaury 25-30), Preston Charter Theatre (February 1-6), Theatre Royal Newcastle (February 8-12) and Mayflower Southampton (February 16-26).

Chicago, which is based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins and has a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, has been directed by Walter Bobbie and features choreography by Ann Reinking. The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (scenic design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Ken Billington (lighting design), and Rick Clarke (sound design).

In related news, it was recently announced that Pellow would star in the world premiere of Strange Flame, a “modern dance spectacular” to be choreographed and directed by Arlene Phillips, on December 28 at the O2.
