James McAvoy to Headline London Revival of Three Days of Rain

Stage and film star James McAvoy will star in the first West End revival of Richard Greenberg’s 1997 play Three Days of Rain, which will play the Apollo Theatre, January 30-May 2. The production, which will be directed by Jamie Lloyd, will co-star Nigel Harman. The show’s female role has not been cast.

McAvoy’s stage credits include Breathing Corpses and Privates on Parades. He has also starred in such films as The Last King of Scotland, Atonement, Becoming Jane and Starter for Ten.

Greenberg’s many plays include Take Me Out, The Violet Hour, and The Dazzle. He will soon be represented on Broadway by the revised book for the musical Pal Joey and a revival of his 1990 play The American Plan. His newest play, Our Mother’s Brief Affair, will debut at South Coast Rep in Costa Mesa in 2009.
