Di Mabro, LaBarrie, Nugent, et al. Set for London’s Rue Magique

Cast and creative team information has been announced for the new musical Rue Magique, to play London’s King’s Head Theatre, October 21-December 7, with an opening on October 29.

Based on true stories, the musical explores the complex relationship between Desdemona, a South London prostitute, and her thirteen year-old daughter Sugar. Originally conceived by composer and lyricist Brett Kahr, it has been developed into a two-act musical by Brett Kahr in collaboration with Lisa Forrell, who has also written the book and will direct the show.

The cast stars Melanie LaBarrie as Desdemona, Terel Nugent as Rem, and Nadia Di Mambro as Sugar. The cast will also include Gavin Ashbarry, Adam Bayjou, Julian Forsyth, Amanda Minihan, Amanda Posener, and Anna Stolli.

The creative team will include Damian Jackson (choreography), Polly Sullivan (set), Natasha Ward (costumes), Tim Mascall (lighting), David White (musical supervision/orchestration), and Andy Massey (musical direction).
