Drama Desk Award winner and Tony nominee Tom Edden will return to the National Theatre's production of One Man, Two Guvnors by Richard Bean, which has extended its bookings through August 31, 2013 at Theatre Royal Haymarket. Edden, who originated his role both in London and New York, will once again play Alfie the Waiter beginning November 19. Nicholas Hytner directs.
One Man, Two Guvnors centers on Francis Henshall, who agrees to work for a local gangster as well as a criminal in hiding, both of whom are linked in a tangled web of schemes and romantic associations, which Francis cannot keep straight.
In addition to Edden, the current cast features Owain Arthur (Francis Henshall), Jodie Prenger (Dolly), Phil Cornwell (Charlie), Rhona Croker (Pauline), David Benson (Gareth), Nigel Betts (Harry), Derek Elroy (Lloyd), Daniel Ings (Alan), Ben Mansfield (Stanley Stubbers), Gemma Whelan (Rachel Crabbe), Robin Berry, Gillian Budd, Andrew Dennis, Laura Matthews, Richard Shanks, and Gavin Spokes.
The design team includes Mark Thompson (set design), Mark Henderson (lighting design), Paul Arditti (sound design), Kate Waters (fight direction), and Adam Penford (choreography). The production features songs by Grant Olding.
