The Phantom of the Opera 25th Anniversary Concert Album 2 CD Set for Release in November

A two CD recording of The Phantom of the Opera at Royal Albert Hall concerts scheduled for October 1-2 will be released by Really Useful Group/Polydor on November 14. As previously announced, the concerts, directed by Laurence Connor and featuring musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne, are being offered in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the popular musical’s opening in the West End.

The company for the concerts will feature Ramin Karimloo in the title role, Sierra Boggess as Christine, Barry James as Monsieur Firmin, Gareth Snook as Monsieur André, Liz Robertson as Madame Giry and Wynne Evans as Piangi. Additional principal casting for the event, which will feature a cast and orchestra of over 200, will be announced in the near future.

The creative team for the celebration will include production designer Matt Kinley, who will use the inspiration of Maria Björnson’s original design, lighting designers Patrick Woodroffe and Andrew Bridge, and sound designer Mick Potter.

Based on the classic novel Le Fantôme de L’Opéra by Gaston Leroux, the show features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart (with additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe), and book by Richard Stilgoe and Andrew Lloyd Webber. In addition to the production playing at Broadway’s Majestic Theatre, the musical can be seen at the West End’s Her Majesty’s Theatre and in Las Vegas at Venetian Resort Hotel Casino.
