Simon Russell Beale, Lindsay Duncan, et al. Set for National Theatre’s King James Bible: the twelve extracts

An initial lineup of performers has been announced for King James Bible: the twelve extracts, to run October 6 – November 6 in the Lyttleton Theatre at the National Theatre. The series, offered in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible, will consist of twelve 80 minute individual pieces, extracts from the work, created by Edward Kemp.

The twelve extracts will be In the Beginning, Let My People Go, The Line of David, Psalms of David and Song of Solomony, Where Shall Wisdom Be Found?, The People that Walked in Darkness, The Gospel According to Mark, The Gospel According to Matthew, The Gospel According to Luke, The Tongues of Men and Angels, The Gospel According to John, and Revelation. Nicholas Hytner, James Dacre and Polly Findlay will serve as directors for one or more of the pieces.

Among the actors scheduled to participate in the performances are Simon Russell Beale, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Mark Bonnar, David Calder, Nancy Carroll, Kenneth Cranham, Lindsay Duncan, Charlotte Emmerson, Mark Gatiss, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Alan Howard, Alex Jennings, Paterson Joseph, Cush Jumbo, Gwilym Lee, Elliot Levey, John Light, Marueen Lipman, Peter McDonald, Tim McMullan, Stephen Campbell Moore, Prasanna Purwanarajah, Paul Ready, Patricia Routledge, Dominic Rowan, John Shrapnel, Jo Stone-Fewings, Geoffrey Streatfeild, Emily Taaffe, and Zubin Varla.
