With music and lyrics by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard, and a book by Bruce Joel Rubin, the show is based on the movie of the same name and tells the story of a man who is trapped as a ghost between this world and the next and who is trying to communicate with his girlfriend through a phony psychic in the hope of saving her from his murderer.
The creative team will include Rob Howell (scenic and costume design), Christopher Nightingale (musical supervision and arrangements), Paul Kieve (illusions), Hugh Vanstone (lighting design), and Simon Baker (sound design).
Stewart, with Eurythmics partner Annie Lennox, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Brit Awards having sold over 75 million albums with hits like Here Comes The Rain Again, Who's That Girl, Would I Lie To You, Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves (with Aretha Franklin) and Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).
Six-time Grammy award winner Glen Ballard has sold more than 150 million records worldwide. One of his biggest successes is the multi platinum album Jagged Little Pill. Most recently he had success writing hit songs for film, including the Grammy-winning and Oscar-nominated "Believe" for Polar Express, "Ordinary Miracle" for Charlotte's Web, and "A Hero Comes Home" for Beowulf.
Rubin won an Academy Award for his screenplay for Ghost. Among his other films are Jacob's Ladder, Deep Impact, Stuart Little 2, The Last Mimzy and, most recently, The Time Traveller's Wife.
Warchus will be represented on Broadway this fall with the revival of La Bête which just completed its run at the Comedy Theatre. He won a Tony Award for his direction of God of Carnage and received Tony Award nominations for The Norman Conquests, Boeing Boeing , True West, and Art.
