Helen Mirren to Star in National Theatre’s Phaedra

Academy Award winner Helen Mirren and Margaret Tyzack will star a new National Theatre production of Jean Racine’s Phaedra, to be directed by Nicholas Hytner, in June 2009.

In 2009, the National will also present: Bertolt Brecht’s Mother Courage and Her Children starring Fiona Shaw and directed by Deborah Warner; Shakespeare’s All’s Well That Ends Well, directed by Marianne Elliott; Christopher Marlowe’s Dido, Queen of Carthage, directed by James Macdonald; Georg Buchner’s Danton’s Death, directed by Michael Grandage; and JB Priestley’s Time and the Conways, directed by Rupert Goold.
